In March, Reading Legacies’ Founder and President, Betty J. Mohlenbrock, M.Ed. was nominated for the San Diego Military Advisory Council’s (SDMAC) Nancy Dix, Esq. Community Achievement Award (Civilian Individual). This award recognizes individuals and organizations that go above and beyond established mission charters or statements in serving the San Diego-area military and civilian communities. Betty was nominated for her work while leading her first non-profit, United Through Reading.

Betty’s vision of providing ALL children the opportunity to improve their reading skills, increase their self-esteem and build strong, healthy relationships with their family and community through the shared-reading experience is still going strong today at Reading Legacies.
