The Success Inside & Out event continues to be a powerful source of support for women who are incarcerated and those preparing for reentry into their communities. Through workshops, resources, and direct engagement, the program addresses critical needs during periods of transition that can shape long-term outcomes. By convening judges, attorneys, and other professionals, the event creates a collaborative space focused on stability, dignity, and opportunity for women navigating complex challenges.
Hosted by the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJ), Success Inside & Out reflects the organization’s longstanding mission to advance fairness, equality, and access to justice. Since its founding in 1979, NAWJ has been a national leader in addressing gender bias, strengthening judicial education, and protecting the rights of vulnerable populations. The organization’s commitment to equal justice, judicial leadership, and improving the administration of justice is evident in its continued efforts to support women both inside the justice system and beyond it.
Reading Legacies is deeply grateful to be invited each year to participate in this meaningful event. As a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the bond between parents and children through the read-aloud experience, especially for incarcerated parents, we value the opportunity to contribute to conversations around family connection and healing. We extend our sincere thanks to NAWJ for its leadership and for recognizing the importance of supporting families affected by incarceration. Together, we are helping women build stronger futures for themselves and their children.
